Merry Christmas and God Bless us, Every One
December go away from me.
I sent this note out to families earlier this week .... I promise more soon!
I am trying to get the blog updated ... I have been very VERY sick since Thanksgiving so I am running on empty and have not had enough to do more than just care for babies.
The pups are 3 weeks old today. They have started some gruel and are doing great. Their little personalities are coming through.
Girls....
Red is a demanding little thing. She can climb out the front of the box and come find me EVERY time she is hungry. She takes 3-4 trips through the drive through at every feeding and prefers to be rocked to sleep.
Light Pink -- or Little Pink as we call her -- is still the smallest but is almost 4 pounds. She is a determined little bug and we all love her because she is so darn cute.
Big Pink (darker collar) is a hefty girl and appears to be a smarty. She love to nurse upside down and takes the bottom nipples because no one butts her off.
Purple - big girl and lovely. Also a smarty and figured out eating very well!
Boys....
Black was one of the smaller and is now over 5 pounds and has beefed up. He LOVES to eat!
Green and Orange are beefy, lazy boys. They like their food to come quickly and easily. Both can climb out of the box and periodically take a stroll around my room.
Dark Blue is the miracle baby whose lungs were not fully cleared at birth and thus he became and experiment in Vicks Vapor Rub. He is a pretty content, smart puppy who knows how to find a spot to nurse and never move.
Light Blue (turquoise) - He has a cowlick on the back of his head, is FAST and energetic. He likes everything -- food, nursing, etc to come quickly and also, like red, prefers to be rocked to sleep. He is always the first one awake and the last to go to sleep.
We are SO enjoying the fact that we get 2 weeks at home with the babies. Yesterday my nephews did their first socialization as they held them, rocked them, etc. My sister in law was so worried that they would hurt them and I assured her that these babies are durable and many are going to homes with children so having a 4 and two 6 year olds play with them is a GOOD thing. The babies thought so too.
Enjoy the shots....

Time Flies
I realize that with the best of intentions I hoped to blog as the Dynamic Dozen grew up and share accolades of their brilliance, successes, and beauty. However, I found that life gets away from me. I find myself now two and a half years later sitting here wondering where the time went.
The beautiful hot pink girl became Scarlet -- Gr CH A'Dell's Gone With The Wind. She is lovingly co-owned by myself, Loraine Hofer (my mom) and great friend and mentor Jane Treiber. Scarlet turned out to be much more than the little 15 oz dynamo she started as. She finished her championship at 14 months of age and then the following weekend won Best In Specialty Show. Her dad was shown that day as well and went Select Dog and First award of merit to his own daughter -- Mission Accomplished -- breed a better dog!
The litter as a whole includes 5 pups that earned their championship by age 2, Best in Sweeps winners, Best in Specialty and Best Opposite in specialty winners and as a result, Essie not only earned her Record of Merit but also was the Top Producing Dam in the US in 2010. Quite an accomplishment for one litter.
Now, here we sit with Scarlet and her newly arrived litter of nine. They do not yet have a nickname but I expect they will gain one. They arrived Monday November 28 and are large and in charge! I will post a few pics of Scarlet before and after babies ... but perhaps not until tomorrow. For now ... someone is crying and would like to be fed! :)
Ready for the next leg of the journey known as Breeder.
